Intentions using the Moon Calendar
If you're into astrology, how much importance do you give to the Moon versus the Sun?
The Sun takes around 6 days to change gates in Human Design, or a specific amount of degrees of an Astrological Sign. However the Moon is able to condition us monthly through it's all signs cycle through the wheel, and through all Human Design gates; allowing us to taste specific energies during the month.
Moon cycles are pretty important in agriculture because it has helped in bettering the practices for planting seeds and the harvest of crops for centuries.

Moon cycles are divided in 8 phases, which are:
New moon, Waxing crescent, First quarter, Waxing gibbous, Full moon, Waning gibbous, Third quarter and Waning crescent.
But if you want to start tracking the moon, I'd advise following only the New Moon and the Full Moon cycles, because they are pivotal moments for the rest of phases to take action. During the New Moons, new intentions and beginnings are at play which gives space for the rest of the lunation which is about action and the growth of projects. Full Moons are moments of clarity and illumination, which give space for the rest of the lunation which is about cleansing and regeneration, and then the cycle begins again.
If you experience menstruation, the cycle of it is very much in accordance to the moon, whether you associate it to it's planetary energy or just as an archetype (or both!)
Moon calendar & esoteric
Using the moon calendar, specially with astrology and human design has been pivotal for me, it has helped me mark moments in my life where I reflect on the themes of that day but also to connect a little bit more to nature.
The next New Moon will be on August 4th 2024, in the sign of Leo in Tropical and the sign of Cancer in True Sidereal. And the gates 33 and 39 accordingly.
TROPICAL AND TRUE SIDEREAL WITH MOON CYCLES
Can I use both systems for the same lunation?
Only if you want; to me it enriches my vision. Tropical is fixed in its programming and True Sidereal is connected to the Constellations as they are in the sky, independent from the Earth's Cycles. More than saying which one is right, I'd recommend you keep an open mind, experiment and get your own conclusions. In the end a New Moon on a Sunday is still gonna be a New Moon in any system there is.
